Our Dogs Need Foster Families

We need two kinds of foster homes: Ones where there may be dogs in the household and ones without other dogs/cats.

Homes with other dogs: Most dogs can handle being put in a foster family where another dog or cat lives. We always check to find out if the surrendered dog likes other dogs and cats and can tolerate being in a home with them.

Homes without other dogs: Many of our sweet dogs need a place to land where they don't have to go through the stress of figuring out the animal dynamics of the household. Many of them just need a safe, quiet place where they get all the attention and can heal from what they have just been through. We need more foster homes without other dogs and/or cats.

If you live in the Willamette Valley* and can provide a place for either type of senior dog while we find them a "forever" home, please help us. When we can’t find a suitable foster for a dog in transition, we have to board them. Often this is not a great environment for the dog and it's very expensive. We do it when there is no other option for them.

* If you live in the Bend area or central Oregon coast area, you may be able to foster also. We would need a guarantee that you would be willing to transport your foster dog to Meet & Greets in the Willamette Valley.

Please click here and submit a foster application today. (An application is required for all fosters.) If you can't foster but know someone who might be able to, please pass this on to them.

Thank you for your help.
